FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Is SoundForge really free?
Yes — every tool is free with no subscriptions, hidden fees, file limits or watermarks. Use them as much as you like.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. All processing happens inside your browser using the Web Audio API. Your audio never leaves your device, which also makes the tools fast and private.
Which formats can I load?
Anything your browser can decode: MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A/AAC and most video containers (MP4, WebM, MOV) for soundtrack extraction. Exports are MP3 (320 kbps) or WAV.
How do I make the viral slowed + reverb sound?
Open the Slowed + Reverb tool, drop a song, pick the TikTok Slowed preset (80% speed, medium reverb), preview, then download. The Vaporwave and Nightcore Reverse presets are one click away too.
What's the difference between Sped Up and Nightcore?
Sped Up raises the tempo while keeping the original pitch, so vocals still sound natural. Nightcore raises speed and pitch together for the classic high-energy, high-pitched sound.
Why do I need headphones for 8D audio?
The 8D effect works by panning sound around your head in a circle. Speakers blend the channels in the room, so the orbiting effect only comes through on headphones.
Does it work on phones?
Yes — every tool is responsive and runs in modern mobile browsers on iPhone, iPad and Android. A few mic-based tools depend on browser permissions for microphone access.
Can I use the results on TikTok or YouTube?
You can use anything you create here in your content. Keep in mind that modifying a copyrighted song doesn't remove its copyright, so Content ID systems may still claim it — use royalty-free or licensed music for full safety.
